Russell Adsit’s professional experience has been as a landscape architect over the 30 years prior to taking the helm of the Executive Director at International Erosion Control Association (IECA) in the fall of 2007.  Russ has been a contractor, small business owner, university assistant professor and project manager for many types of projects over the years. He holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from the University of Georgia and a Masters in Agribusiness Management (MABM) from Mississippi State University. A frequent speaker at workshops, seminars and educational events, he has also written articles for newspapers, magazines, textbooks and other publications. Russ has been recognized by his peers for excellence in design, construction and leadership in business as well as his non-profit activities.

At IECA, Russ has made some dramatic and positive changes in the location, focus and structure at IECA as the organization attempts to meet the changing economic conditions facing the association and the profession.
